Mariner`s Inn in Madison

The steaks are always great at the Mariners ! I think their steaks come from neesvigs meats.

Good steaks and seafood at one of Madison's well established supper clubs.

Fantastic desserts, great wine, good entree and the service was adequate.

While I would give wait staff 10 stars the food would get 1 Star. Steaks for all of us came out raw. Sent them back and they came back very overdone. But there was absolutely no flavor. Even with my children and myself smothering them in salt it didn’t help. No flavor in the appetizers either. The rolls were good as was the dessert. But appetizers and main course just wasn’t edible at all. We ended up taking our steaks and rest of food home and gave to our pets. Sorry that sounds harsh and I hate saying it but we just couldn’t find a way to make the food taste good. But again the staff went above and beyond. Always seeing our needs before we said anything and if our waitress was busy someone else was right behind her covering us. The staff are amazing.

Food and service were awesome!There were 6 in our group. Our waitress Pam was marvelous! Drinks were tasty! We tried sime of their specialty drinks. Enjoyed the Restaurant week specials. My husband had the Salmon, i had the shrimp, the other two gentlemen had lobster and steak, my sister enjoyed the crab with steak and my sister in law lived the shrimp as i did. We each found everything very enjoyable! We will be back! Thank you Mariner's Inn!💞

Had to visit this Madison landmark since we hadn’t been back for 10 years. I’m happy to say that the Mariner’s Inn is still a fantastic restaurant. We both had steak and lobster. Loved every bite! Service by the experienced wait staff was excellent. View of marina was just as I remember. Very tranquil setting. A little hard to find, but a must if you are visiting the area!

What a wonderful restaurant! We enjoyed the Happy Hour in the lounge and then a great meal. The views were great - loved the fireplace! The service was superb.

The service was ok. The grounds, parking lot, sign, need help. My dinner was under cooked, I sent it back and the steak was still not done. My husband asked for a second beer and did not receive it before we decided to leave. We have been there several times in the past and we think it has gone down hill recently. My parents meal , salmon, they said was very good.

The Lobster boul was absolutely wonderful meet a lot of nice people at my table, the drinks was good and the Lobster was delicious. Desert was good also. I will recommend the Lobster boil to anyone , Happen the last Thursday of every month till September or when ever 5he weather change.Make your reservation ahead of time they are known to sell out.

Celebrated an Anniversary with friends. Great food and attentive servers!

This dining experience was excellent! I was immediately made to feel welcomed by both the owner and my bartender. Their house wine selections, which were on "happy hour" pricing, were all amazing. My king crab legs were also on special and absolutely delectable. But, as much as I love, love, love crab, I'm compelled to admit that the hollandaise sauce on my tender, flavorful asparagus stole the show. Digestion of my meal is barely underway and already I can't wait for my next visit to Mariner's Inn.

Annual restaurant week trip to Mariners. Outside dining is great. Really good food and service.

Have gone twice now. Pleased both times! Clam chowder is some of the best I've ever had. Rajun cajun filet is delicious too. And their scalloped potatoes and hash browns, yum!!!

Mariners Inn is the best restaurant in Madison hands down. They have the best view anytime of the year. You're not looking at a parking lot....it's a beautiful serene view of the harbor whether its summer or snow covered in the winter. Mariners Inn has been in the Von Rutenberg Family forever (well not quite but forever in my lifetime). They take pride in their service, food, and they just want you to have a great meal. The food is outstanding. I recommend the combo mushrooms for appetizers. I have tried most of the main courses and they are always perfect. Friday night fish fry is the best in Wisconsin. Be sure to have a drink at the historic bar and get a grasshopper after dinner. Say hi to Jack!

Holy ship! Literally the best food I've ever had. The service started excellently and did not disappoint. The steak was perfect and the seafood was amazing. I will come back over and over again.

Good food great portions fair price

One of my sisters had her 60th surprised Birthday Party here and it was my first time here. The party was great along with the food except they should use real potatoes instead of instant for the prices they charge.

Totally weird, totally strange, totally good food. Really unique atmosphere (nautical with a healthy dash of kitschy), and a gorgeous view of the water/sailboats right outside the windows. We were there at sunset: fabulous. The location is beautiful, and the service is extremely kind. The steaks were delicious, and their chicken was also very good/well-flavored. Definitely more on the pricey side, but they delivered the quality.

Very pricey. Steak was tough. Not much atmosphere. Have had much better food and drinks for less money.

A classic institution with great dishes and nostalgic classics. Some of the best shrimp cocktail I have ever been served. Solid presentation and our party enjoyed our window view of the water. We also tried a few beverages during happy hour and really enjoyed one of their signature cocktails, a Lake Mendota Martini.

Definitely a go to for a romantic evening out.. wonderful sunset venue.... Great steak

Madison Restaurant Week. Food was meh. In small defense, restaurant week is hyper busy zero profit. Maybe the normal menu fare is better.

I've been going to Mariners for decades. The food is great, ample portions, fine drinks and wine and attentive staff. But what I love the most is the cosy atmosphere. A true supper club, if only they had an organ! 😊

Our first time dining here on NYE. Service was great even tho we were the last table in the farthest room. It was a nice experience. Our waiter Jim was proficient and friendly. However, I was disappointed that my meal of tenderloin, lobster and carrotts was served on the lukewarm side. Great restaurants need to bring the food hot directly from the kitchen and not wait until the servers pick it up. Here they place your whole table's order on a cart and wheel it to your table. We will try it again and hope for the best.

My steak was wonderful and calamari was delicious. The chowder seems different this time.

I sent my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I visit this place often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The the cooking is fantastic and the team is efficient and cooperative. Every time we eat in this place we have a pleasant evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.

Great food, excellent service, nice atmosphere!

Probably one of the best steaks I've had, definitely in the top five. The restaurant itself is showing it's age but the location is super nice. The staff were quick and courteous and the food showed up quickly. The prices are a little high but the quality of the food mostly justified it.

Nice ambience, but food was stuck in the past.

This is the 1st time I've dined at the Mariner's Inn & had heard it was good. It did not disappoint! My Cosmo cocktail was excellent followed by the best clam chowder ever! Then came steaks followed with Betty's cheesecake. Our waiter was great & very attentive even though it was a busy night. We look forward to going back to try out their fish fry.

Great atmosphere and great food.

We tried them during 'restaurant week'. Nice place tucked behind a lot of condos. The decor was the anticipated seaside supper club. The environment had a lived in feel, but was clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant. The food was well prepared and presented nicely, though portion size was a tad small for my taste.

Food was excellent. The server was good, but needed to be reminded a couple times. He also didn't refill our water glasses.

Been coming here since I was little and has always been my favorite place! This was the first time we have ever not been satisfied completely. I believe our waitress got our steak orders for doneness mixed up after she came back and asked us twice. My steak was not tender and as tasteful. My husband's was almost raw which he order Med and I Med rare. Everything else was awesome. Wonderful hosts and owners!

We went to Mariners yesterday and had a great time. The prices are a bit expensive, akin to other fancy steakhouses. It was worth it though. We all loved our seafood meals. My walleye was the best walleye I've ever had. The atmosphere was also great with an outside patio and live music. Definitely recommended!

From the moment you walk in the door, the magic begins. The decor and ambience are truly that of a classic super club with some amazing one of a kind nautical pieces. The great service begins immediately at the front door! I recommend starting at the bar for a cocktail or two, you won't get a better old fashioned in the Madison area! On to dinner... as an appetizer, the fish fingers are amazing. I'd never heard of Saba fish, but it's my new favorite. You really want go wrong with anything in the menu. Every steak is cooked to perfection. The service is not only fantastic, they are truly interested in making your dining experience the best it can be. If you are looking to celebrate a special event, look no further. . This should be at the top of anyone's list.

Excellent service, even though our server was in training. Cami was awesome, and took great care of us.Even the other servers who were working in our area of the dining room stopped at our table a couple of times to help out and be sure we were being taken care of.The food was excellent, zero complaints.

Food is good and atmosphere is old fashioned Wisconsin feeling. A good midscale dinner. Too many sauces on the steaks for my taste but the meat is good and stands alone very well.

The food was exquisite. A little pricey but this is the quintessential supper club. Great service by people who care.
